Community Funding Guidelines

Moran Iron Works Inc. accepts funding requests from organizations located in the Emmet, Cheboygan and Presque Isle County community areas for programs that address community needs. Funding decisions are made by the Moran Iron Works Community Funding Committee. Organizations are eligible to apply annually.

Who Can Apply

Nonprofit organizations, school-based programs, municipalities and other governmental units, and community projects that serve Emmet, Cheboygan and Presque Isle Counties.

What We Fund

Arts and culture, education, environment, community development, community services (e.g. human services, health and wellness programs), recreation, and youth services.

What We Don't Fund

Ongoing organizational operating expenses, political campaigns, sectarian organizations, loan payments of deficit spending, and services normally supported by tax dollars.

Our Funding Priorities

  • Projects that address emerging needs or try a new approach
  • Projects that encourage people to help themselves
  • Projects that benefit a number of people

How to Apply

Complete the funding application and submit it to the Moran Iron Works office, along with a few required attachments.

When to Apply

Applications will be reviewed on the 15th of every month.  You will be notified by the end of the month if your application has been approved.
