Project Operations Manager

Goal:   To provide excellent leadership for MIW’s team of project managers that will insure the professional execution of all projects from award to completion per MIW standards, procedures and expectations.

Directly reports to the COO.

Duties, Responsibilities, & Expectations:

  • Maintaining a master project management schedule to monitor the progress of each project and insure that deliverables and milestones are complete and on schedule.
  • Providing project status updates to the CEO on a weekly basis.
  •  Maintaining a Project Management specific manpower chart to prioritize and manage resources.
  • Adjusts resources as required to insure the Project Managers maintain project deliverables and schedules.
  • Insures that all Project Managers are trained on MIW project management procedures and processes.
  • Insure all projects are being executed per MIW standards and procedures as outlined in the project management manual.
  • Collaborates with the Senior Project Manager and completes all Project Manager’s performance reviews.
  • Collaborates with the CEO and assigns Project Managers to projects based on their current availability and their overall capabilities.
  • Reviewing of project specific execution plans with the assigned Project Manager prior to the project kick off and planning meeting.
  • Maintaining the project management manual and providing input to the Director of Project Management for improvement.
  • Insuring departmental conformance with AISC policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining MIW drafting standards and circulating to MIW approved vendors.
  • Insuring the drawing constructability, design intent, appearance, and fabrication reviews have been completed and signed off prior to release.
  • Insuring that the MIW plant logistics plan for all projects is complete and being maintained.
  • Insuring that the barge facility storage and assembly plan for all projects is complete and being maintained as applicable.

Success Criteria:

  • Attendance & Punctuality: Standard working hours are from 6:00am to 4:00pm or as required to accomplish goals and expectations. Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; Arrives at meetings and appointments on time. Is professional both in conduct and attire.

Qualifications/Job Requirements: 

  • BA/BS degree: Engineering or related field with 5 + years of operations management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge and skills associated with structural steel disciplines.
  • Understanding of, and experience in, proper weld nomenclature.
  • Computer proficient with Microsoft Office products.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people to achieve results.
  • Ability to think ahead and plan over a 1-2 year time span while managing multiple and competing priorities.
  • Highly organized at problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
  • Strong technical skills in strategic planning and operational management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including presentation skills.

Sales Account Manager

Goal:  This position is responsible for understanding and developing assigned territory to maximize and grow revenue and profits by selling Moran Iron Works, Inc., (MIW) product solutions to existing customers and acquiring new business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of MIW products, and utilize this knowledge to successfully sell MIW product solutions to new and existing customers in assigned areas of responsibilities.
  • Meet regularly with existing customers and prospects in sales area to understand their evolving business needs and position product solutions to meet their needs.
  • Continuously expand customer understanding and use of MIW product solutions and capabilities.
  • Build long-term, productive, and mutually beneficial relationships with existing and new customers.
  • Maintain consistent communication and timely follow-up with customers and prospects and be available and responsive to customer’s real-time needs.
  • Work effectively with internal support departments to promote sales for new and existing customers to maximize MIW’s visibility to provide Large Industrial, Marine and Turbine Solutions.
  • Complete sales activity expense reports.
  • Conducts analytical research on current customers and prospects.
  • Attend conferences and professional association meetings and promote MIW product solutions.
  • Other duties will be assigned as necessary.

  • B.A., Business, Marketing, or other related fields or equivalent work experience


  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience
